Need some help identifying hibernation.
This is the first year that this is in our hands to mark sure hibernation goes well.
We have a 80 year old Hermann tortoise who has done this every year while living with my grandma.

This is the first year with us which she will be going into hibernation. I think she has already started as hasn’t come out of her box for 3 days. She hardly ate for a week prior to this.
This may sound a really stupid question but how do I know for sure she has gone into hibernation and not just sleeping.
If I open her house and remove the straw she has her eyes closed and does move her head slightly in and out.
When they in hibernation do they move at all? What happens when I pick her up will she open her eyes or keep them closed?
I just want to make sure before moving her into her hibernation box.
Do you think she is hibernating or could she be ill?
I feel like a worried parent

Many thanks
