I lost my old boy Calvin 3 years ago & I still miss him like crazy. I became his human when I was 10 & he was 4 weeks old & he gave me the privilege of catering to his every need for all 13 of his years. There are spots in the yard I can't look at because I still expect him to come lumbering out...
Crowley is around 5.5 / 6 months now. So first time having a chance to try them. I'll be growing sacrificial squash plants for him from now on. Hopefully I'll be able to have a couple growing year round just for leaves & blossoms.
And that's a late start. I could start seedlings indoors as early as Mis January & start transplanting outside by the end of march. Share away! I feel like everyone should love Crowley!
Probably helps that I'm in central florida. I started planting at the end of February / beginning of march. Now that I know how much he loves blossoms I'll probably plant a few extra plants just for him.
Today I let Crowley taste his first squash blossom from the garden. To say he enjoyed it is an understatement.
He then found the bloom I tried to hide & went to town on it.
Use the link someone posted earlier & then put in your Home Depots location & it should give you the stock number at your store & what bay they are in. I'm in orlando & went last night & got 6 to start playing around with spacing ideas.
I currently work at a wild life sanctuary, but I've just started looking into a month long volunteer program studying & working with white sharks in South Africa. Which would be the experience of a life time for me.
After 3 years of culinary school I'm pet/house sitter. I also work at / with a local wildlife sanctuary. I do social media stuff, work on the property & occasionally handle trap checks & collecting. But the best part is working with all the baby animals we get.
