I don’t think I would leave him outside during the Chicago winters, but summer is a different story. Sooo… his next indoor enclosure could have an open I thought that was the regular top, with the heaters on the sides? If this is the case, do you get light stands for the UVB bulbs? Thanks!

@Tom thanks for the grass info. My leopard is not supposed to be a South African, but at the rate he is growing, who knows?? I’m guessing I have a hybrid tort (just over a year old and almost 900g!). Time will tell!

@Tom my question is totally off-topic from the current discussion, but you said something I would like to ask you about… what kinds of grass(es) do you feed your leopards? I know my leopard likes to eat grass outside, and since cold winter is approaching here, I would like to grow some good...

How fantastic! ❤️ One thing I have heard over and over on this form is NO topsoil. Topsoil is an impact ion risk and can contain unsafe ingredients (for lack of a better word.)

Thank you, will do! No outdoor enclosure yet, that will be the project for next spring. I just had an 8x3’ closed chamber enclosure built, which I am guessing he will grow out of very quickly. Yikes! At what age can they move out of a closed chamber?
