Its normal for a young tortoise to sleep a lot. Its normal to eat look around then sleep, much like a baby. You can take it outside temp permitted for exercise. That is recommend anyway. Your lucky. My red foot little queen Lady Boxsworth will NOT eat left overs and if she don't get her fruit...

There is not enough room. I agree as well, change can cause stress. Plus a tortoise should not be in a all glass enclosure. A small viewing window is ok but not a full view. A lot of tortoises like to climb as well as burrow. Keep an eye on tipping and make sure he/she can right itself back on...

NO LETTUCE it has no nutritional value for a tortoise. Try a 100% natural vegetable mix like for salad lettuce free. Like a spring mix available at walmart or your grocer. A calcium powder is good to sprinkle too ever couple feedings.

You can download apps that identify plants by taking their picture. Its very helpful for tortoise owners. I use one myself. Looks like lettuce. Which has NO nutritional value for tortoises.

The shell can absorb chemicals. If you must paint something use some type of chemical free.

Just keep UVB light and high temp and humidity not one too low or high from the other. A recommend a reptile humidifier. Plus a place it can crawl into and soak. Good work
