I don't know an exact good temp but I do WARM water but not hott ;) this is my Hermann hatch bubbles. She is 4mos old! And my Russian named Piggy he's approx 10-12 yrs old ;) good luck with your new shell baby!!
Hi Gary! Do you have a new hatch or an adult? A new hatch should be everyday in warm water up to its chin for 20/30min.....an adult usually 2-3x week (that's what I do) they recommend soaking to keep your shell friend hydrated ;) there's also other benefits to soaking as well.....hope this helps!!!

Thanks everyone! He is outside most of the day! N I found a light hanger thing lol so it's hanging straight down now instead of clamped ;) and I've since planted chia for him n it's helped sooooo much with keeping his water n food dish clean :) since this thread I've also obtained a new family...
My husband is great and built our shell baby a new indoor enclosure! It's made out of shelving from menards and very cheap to make!! It's a 6'x3' table and piggy loves it :)

I'm stuck ad to what to do for plants inside my new table I'm building for my Russian. Where do you acquire plants for your tort? Obviously I can't go to the nursery because they will be full of pesticides and such. Do I just start them from seeds? Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Thank you...
