Help me identify my tortoise species!

That is funny! She's called Morpeth (after the town in the north). My Dad found her in the grounds of the maternity hospital (1973) I was born at and we've had her ever since. She hibernates in a box in our garage from Oct to Apr and has a great life digging and sunning herself! I would imagine...

Thank you! I'm still getting used to her being a female and not a male - don't suppose it makes any difference to her after all this time!

Female? Luckily his name is Morpeth (town in the north of England) so male or female it works!! I had to take him/her to the vet a while ago and she said from his weight and size he was probably around 100yrs old. Could be I suppose!

Help me identify my tortoise species!

This cheeky chappie has been in my family for over 50 years and was pretty large when we found him. Can anyone tell me what breed of tortoise he is and whether he is male or female? We always assumed he was a male due to his general demeanor ;)
