    Eyes not fully opened

After no luck with finding Terramycin I am resorting to online. Is there a particular concentration I should be looking for? eBay seems to have lots that are labeled for cats and dogs. Is this the right stuff?

    Eyes not fully opened

Thanks for the advice. I haven't found any eye drops yet, but will venture to a larger city tomorrow. I've been soaking him 2-3 times a day and hand feeding him to help him out. He's regained 2 of the 4 grams he lost (he's only 54 on a good day) and seems a little brighter. His eyes are still...

    Eyes not fully opened

Thank you. I don't have any Teramycin, but will try to get some tonight. He definetely doesn't have any bubbling from the nose, but his activity level is decreased as well as his appetite :( I think I'll try some extra soaks and add some polyvitamin drops or baby food too.

    Eyes not fully opened

For the last 2 days Shelldon hasn't eaten much of his food. On closer examination this evening his eyes aren't fully opened. The outer lids are open, but the inner ones are only about 1/3 open. As a test I went and got his favourite treat (a cherry tomato) and held it in front of him and...

    Lonesome George's Death

I was lucky enough to meet Lonesome George while in The Galapagos in 2009. I have followed his story since then and am so sad to hear of his passing.

    They are all Hermanns...aren't they??

I find this thread very interesting. Thank you for sharing Helen. I agree with the others, my neighbours never have anything so nice to offer!

    New Hermanns!

Very cute! Oh, and I have several fake (silk) plants in with my Hermanns to spruce the place up a bit and I have never seen him bite them, nor do they seem damaged. Just an FYI.

Asking new posters their real names.

I too think that it is only reasonable on this forum to ask for a first name and country of origin. It guides many discussions and much advice. In each household with children the rules and parameters of internet use are the responsibility of the adults to both inform and enforce. It's no...

How much should a baby Herman eat per day

I'm not sure if I can tell you how much a baby Hermann SHOULD eat, but I can tell you how much mine eats. Generally, most days Shelldon eats about 6-8 medium sized pieces of spring mix. This would equate to a small handful. To that I occassionally add other greens and very rarely some fruit...

    New Book

I think that the internet has made us Canadians more aware of the things we don't have and can't get. ALL those years ago we just didn't know what the world had to offer Terry. Happily, I now have a way to procure many things, but still not tortoises from out-of-country :(

    New Book

One could ask why many of the things that are available in the U.S. are not available here... It's not that it's been banned or anything, we just don't tend to have the same product availability here. Perhaps the demand or shipping costs... I couldn't even get it on Amazon.ca, had to go...
