    Red foot biting

Hey guys I have an issue with my redfoots. I hope it’s a small issue and able to be fixed however I’m unsure. I’ve got 3 red foots and the smallest of the lot seems to be trying to bite the others at every opportunity he is given. He seems to go behind them and bite their legs and shell. Why is...

    European tortoise breeders

Does anyone know of any UK breeders or European breeders. I’m building a new tortoise enclosure as my Egyptians and red foots have been a great success and love their homes but I have more space and want to find another breed that I can learn about! I’m really interested in the Pyxis arachnoides...

Why not to keep 2 tortoises together - a lesson learned the hard way

I know this was posted a long long time ago but it will be helpful for a very long time. I got red foot tortoises and 2 female and 1 Male and they seem to be fine for now. Obviously who knows whether it will work out but if worst comes to worst, they will need separating!

    Tortoise not eating

I wouldn’t panic now. Tortoises can live without food for extremely long periods of time. Sometimes it can be months! It’s most likely that he’s just getting used to his new enclosure. They can get stressed! My red foots were off their food when I put them in their new home. It’s normal! As long...

    My outside enclosure!

Looks awesome! Very generous sized space! Wish I could build something like that for my tortoises but it’s just rubbish weather in the UK all the time. No good for tortoises :( .... done an awesome job! Maybe some shaded areas, like bushes would look awesome! Very lucky tortoise that’s for sure!

    redfoot hatchling substrate?

I use Eco earth for my red foots. I used to use the Forest floor wood chips but I wouldn’t recommend this. Stick to Eco earth. It’s sometimes works out cheaper if you use the blocks and put them in water rather than using the 26L bags

So I have quite a few tortoise species however there is one that really interests me. That’s the spider tortoise. I don’t know if there are any breeders in UK or Europe that can help me with this but I’m keen to get a couple as they’ve always interested me. If anyone has any or knows someone...

    Built my tortoise Vivarium bed!

I have fitted some doors on the back so I can sort out whatever needs doing at the back. It is a little bit of a struggle to get to the middle area but the torts are worth it! I love my red foots. My Egyptians are cool too.I have some hatchling Indian stars at the moment in a 5ft by 2ft and...
