Had anyone tried one of these "caged feeders"? It's been working great for me.

These feeders are fantastic. This year, I bought a smaller one for their inside winter quarters and they sometimes end up stuck inside of it. I'm not sure how it's happening, I guess they climb into it. I need to keep a close eye on them as they can get stuck in there face-down. Can anyone...

Had anyone tried one of these "caged feeders"? It's been working great for me.

I got one a few years ago for my box turtles and it is great - no more walking through the food dish and destroying breakfast for everyone else. I feed in the shade so there is no worry of hot metal. It also cleans up easily. I do occasionally switch it out for a large terra cotta dish so they...

How can I help this little one?

...and give her nails/claws a trim so she can walk more easily too. A few days of eye drops, athletes foot/anti fungal on the shell and natural sunlight, humidity and clean water will help a lot.

    Edible Plants for the Pen

I'm located in the northeast and would like to plant some edible plants in my box turtle pen this spring that can continue to feed the turtles throughout the season. The obvious choice to start is some strawberry plants, but I there anything can I plant that will provide nutrition all season long?

Help!! I think coco is sick! ???

This is a reach, but if his green hide is plastic, it may be off-gassing because of the heat lamp. Replace the green hide with something natural or inert - wood, ceramic, cardboard, etc.

    Flying Tortoises

Can you ship them to yourself via overnight service like the tort breeders do? Or is it too cold there this time of year?

    Identify this box turtle please

I have never used a reptile vet, but there is a good one nearby. Any idea what kind of costs are involved?

    Identify this box turtle please

better shot of his leg wound. I'm afraid to clean it too much as it seems some of the flesh is coming off and opening it up. I'm applying neosporin, but should I keep him completely dry for a few weeks as I try to heal it? Quarantined? Bin with a towel/newspaper? or moist eco-earth?

    Identify this box turtle please

You're right about the shell. Upon further inspection and clean up today, I do see a few signs of very worn growth ridges and all else is either smooth or pitted with some worn rough areas. I'm working on treating the wound. It's worse than I thought - it's actually worse than this pic, as it...
