Just an update. this little guy/gal has been doing great. Eating aggressively and enjoying time indoors and outdoors. I’m surprised that after only a few weeks it’s shell has hardened up and grown a noticeable amount!

Been seeing a bunch of wild box turtles while I’ve been out and about the last few weeks, figured I’d share some piks and post some more as I find more. All turtles are photographed then left alone! I’ve seen several the last few days while morel hunting but here are 3 from today. All males.

Unfortunately this little one did not make it either. I’m hoping any other baby’s will stay in the ground but we will be checking the pen multiple times a day until it warms up. I tried to find the nest but was unsuccessful and slightly disturbed 2 adults that were only a inch or so buried...

With the warm then cold we have been having I was out checking my pen the other day and found a newborn. After trying to warm it up it was already dead it is way to early for them to be coming up all my adults won’t come up till usually April. So I have been checking my pen everyday. last night...

You can screw some 2x10’s or 2x12’s into a square and put it in the yard or the garden. It can be easily picked up and moved for grass cutting or if your parents want it moved. Just make sure they can’t escape from underneath.

Yea about a 3x2 slate. Most of the cage is thick with growth so other than the pond and 2 leaf litter piles it’s the only area I could feed and watch them eat.

These guys love to eat everything fruit, vegetables, worms and slugs. I think there favorite treat is eggs.

Had some heavy rains the other day so me and my son went for a walk and found 4 box turtles1 female 1 male and a mating pair. All the turtles were photographed and left alone. Except for the 1 my son picked up for a picture.

Put a few of the turtles in today and watched them for about 10 minutes. Had one walk along the top of the pool and fall in upside down luckily I was there to help it or it woulda drowned. I fixed the problem temporarily and will make a permanent improvement ASAP. They are very good at pointing...
