Hello,
My gal Sydney laid 8 eggs on Thursday September 26th. 2 are cracked, I kept them anyways for now. The other 6 are in perfect condition.
I have them in containers with Hatch Rite.
I followed the directions completely.
My incubator is a Vevor.
I have the temperature set between 31 and 32...
I do keep them separate. This has never happened before. That is why I asked. I have had my tortoises over 28 years. They are very healthy and see a veterinarian every year. Yearly exams. Thank you again.
Thank you for the advice. I have had them since their were babies.
I have them in my fenced in yard during the late spring and throughout the summer, early fall if weather permits. They come in our home during the winter months.
They only started excavating last year.
Hello,
I have been on the discussion thread last year. My tortoise Sulcata Sydney (28 years old) laid 14 eggs last summer. The eggs were all non fertile. Year before only 4 non fertile eggs.
This summer she has been excavating our yard like last summer. No eggs yet. She has been trying to mate...
Both African Spur Sulcata. Sydney female,
Squirt is the male. I also have one male Leopard tortoise. They have been mating for 3 years. Sydney laid 4 eggs two years ago. Only one survived, the rest were broken. Sydney never excavated my yard like she did this year..
I had the last set up as...

She cracked one, I didn't keep it because it was leaking. The others I...
She is digging in different areas. She actually dug out our cable and Sprinkling system.
We are in midwest IL. Just outside of Chicago. The weather is hot not any different than some summers before. We have had in past hotter weather than this.
Yes. All three are in the yard.
I will send pictures of my yard and where my female Sydney sleeps.
The other two have their own sleeping space. Which they dug out and return to the sam places every year.
I thought my other Sulcata (Squirt) was a female, however he actually a male.
My Leporad (...
My Sulcata is 27 years old. She has been digging for the last 2 to 3 weeks non stop. All 3 of my torts have full range of our yard. Only my female is digging.. Never this much digging or I should say excavating.
She has never laid eggs, I keep checking there are no eggs yet. Could she be egg...
I did see at my veterinarian's office, Nationwide has exotic pet insurance. For tortoises 🐢 and turtles. Going to get it for our tortoises.
IWe have it for our 2 Westies. It is worth it for standard health care and emergencies.
