No worries. It’s really complicated to figure these plants out but having these discussions out there makes it better for everyone in the long run. Besides, this was a scenario where we were “better safe than sorry”. All good.
Looks like Burdock and “docks” are very different plants. As mentioned earlier in the thread, there are no indications of animal toxicity except for human use as a diuretic. It’s very hard to control though. I will take out the ones I see. Hopefully we can find some competing beneficial plants.
Wonder if there is any more current information on burdock? Grows like crazy here. Our tort may nibble on rare occasion but she loves to hide behind it when the plant gets large. Debating whether to remove it or not.
@Tom Thanks! Number-wise we can’t compete. Right now we’re in the high 80s but the humidity is extremely high so the heat index is bubbling over. Not sure why it got so hot in direct sun but the sun just seems stronger these days. I like the ideas you suggested and will definitely experiment...

For a single 4’ x 4’ for a 20” Sulcata I am using a mini oil heater. How how do you make barrier that keeps the tort away? Do you build in clearance? I considering either putting it into a corner. Would that work?
