    Tort starts house FIRE

We re-named one of our leopards Pyro after she started a fire in our house. She knocked a floor lamp onto a pile of magazines/newspaper. It took effort for her to be able to manage what she did....it never crossed my mind that she could get into that kind of trouble, I thought the place was...

    Odd Hatchling Behavior

Have you tried soaking him in water? Sometimes they're dehydrated and have trouble with their eyes, or the water will dislodge what ever is bugging their eyes.

    Tortoises in Canada

when we lived in Canada, we imported some leopard tortoises...It can be done. And we moved to the States with them, no problem. Spider torts

Maybe that's the problem. It just freaks me out that they aren't eating or drinking for months. Olga

Perfect, a spider thread! I have a colony of P. arachnoides arachoides that I worry about every winter. They aestivate, and the last two years, one of them didn't make it. They stop eating completely, and burry themselves. Is there anything I can do to avoid losing any more? I have no idea why...

Thanks everyone. I'll have to go lookin around for pictures. Everyone is in their winter enclosures right now. We moved the herd from Canada to the south. It actually wasn't that bad with some planning and lots of paperwork. Favorites....so hard, I do really enjoy all of them. I love the...

    new to the forum

Hi, I'm new here, but not to tortoises. We've had some of our leopards and redfoots for over a decade, and have moved across the country with them....which meant building a lot of new enclosures....but they enjoy the extra sunshine. We have a colony of leopards, redfoots, cherry heads, spiders...
