Sorry for the confusion, wasn't asking about feeding was just commenting on how much a tortoise frogmores size eats, we can only imagine how much food those giant torts go through!
Gotta say too- we would've never thought of a tortoise as being the type of animal to rampage when it wants something lol. We have dogs, chickens, goats, a peacock....only the peacock has frogmore beat. We can be on the opposite end of the house and hear thumping. Think it's a dog. Nope. It's...
Well frogmore seems to be doing good. He/she will be 2 years old this coming June. ( I'll say "her" cause that's what the girls in the house insist on lol)99 grams when we received her, last weigh in was 3lbs one and one half ounces. She's an eating machine, we don't know how y'all with giant...
If you have a drill- you can pre drill the particle board and use a few "trim" screws to hold it all together while the glue sets up. A box of trim screws is only about $10.00 in the USA. As long as you drill the holes first they won't break up the particle board as they're very thin. You just...
Agree with csweaver that's an old box turtle. I live on the GA SC state line near the coast. Every now and then we find an old one like that. Found one in a swamp years ago with a faded out shell, it was all pock marked like the surface of the moon as well. Love box turtles.
Aw man I really like the cardigans, the look of the tail and more substance in the chest is great. Corgis and GSD's make a good match for a household don't they!
Do tortoises go through growth spurts? He/she has been putting new growth on the shell like crazy for the past couple of months. Nice smooth growth. Weighed in this evening at 643 grams. 99 grams last Sept 4th the day we received him.
How big before we can tell if male or female? The girls in...
Sweet, another German shepherd owner! Walter's a nice looking pup. I knew a guy with that same mix, his was also a really nice little dog. He used to tell people it was a miniature GSD lol.
Get the loctite marine grade adhesive sealant from Lowe's. Put a good bead on the trouble areas and smooth it hard with your finger, it'll smoosh into the cracks. Its pretty strong stuff, if you caulk all the seams with it it'll hold. I used it on my PVC enclosure. We use it on our boats, it...
Sounds good. We figured doing it this way, we can just keep adding on until hes big enough for outside rather than having to build completely new enclosures. We're also thinking of getting some small plant hangers that can go on the walls, that way plants can trail down without pots taking up...
