This is how she looks at the moment, front legs tucked in tight, eyes do look sunken but can't confirm,as for her back legs, they're a bit out(not entirely, just the feet) and the tailed tucked in.
I've given her a warm soak and she didn't respond, flipped her on her back for a second,no response...
She would keep re-injuring herself on these spots whenever she'd try burying herself in the enclosure or getting into a tight corner to sleep, would that be a factor?
She would bleed a bit whenever this would happen and wouldn't eat food properly, she'd get better over the weak with the painkiller

Old thread with the intial injury, she was injured the same way on her bottom as well
Can't see her eyes, her head is covered by her two front legs tightly.
Her shell was damaged by what the vet said could've been a rat bite, but in hindsight it was more likely it happened due to her getting caught on some rusted pipes that were left unintentionally in her space.Vet didn't say...
My 15 year old star, who has been dealing with a severe shell injury(got her front 1/4th of the shell chipped off with visible tissue as well as on the bottom 1/4th) over the past year, I medicated her appropriately and applied a zinc oxide-betadine tincture on her wounds over the last year, she...
My Indian Star is being very difficult. She refuses to eat or drink absolutely anything, she might just take a bite or two of a cucumber but that's it.
The only thing she actively tries eating is Tomatoes, which I only ever feed to her when I want her to gulp down any medication which is...
Have already done this, tried feeding her but seems to be really scared as she keeps refusing food.
Anything else I should do to help with the healing?Am I to apply this ointment for a week or so or is once today enough?Should I sprinke more calcium in her diet now?
Edit: When you say ensuring...
As I went to feed my tortoise today in the morning, I noticed that it had reinjured itself on an old year old wound, basically she got bitten by a rat and the immediate layer of the shell above her head was effectively chewn off.It appears this happened as she tried to find deeper cover from the...
Would it be possible to keep them both in the same garden if I manage to build a barrier of sorts, also how long is quarantine recommended for the new addition?
Also I have seen people house multiple star tortoises in a single space, is that a bad practice or is it just that pairs are not...
Hey guys,
So in my locale I am one of the few people to have rescued a star tortoise and to have safely bred it so long in the best possible conditions, Recently one of my acquittances spotted one in their garden and have been looking after it since, while they are trustworthy people who take...
Oh,well as long as she recovers fine and doesn't have any lasting pain
Any tips to help with any pain she could have and healing that part of her shell in general,I have applied an antiseptic cream and cleaned her with Luke warm water as of now
None, dogs definitely not but now that many people are mentioning it,I guess it's possible that it could have been rats,I cleaned it's enclosure quite recently and am guessing it might be possible that a rat's nest may have been disturbed in the process
But again,to my knowledge no rodents in...
Apologies for the location,I am from a coastal city in South India and yes the enclosure is outside.
How we the enclosure is basically my terrace where to my knowledge there are no rodents(I can say this since I frequent the area almost every day when I go to feed and bathe the tortoise) and...
