She’s a leopard. Late 20s. This is my 3rd summer with her. Never fed her more than a few random blueberries and the odd cucumber. She most eats leaves grass weeds and cactus. I only give her food occasionally she has lots to find for herself outside.
I bought two mini seedless watermelons at Costco. I gave her two slices and she devoured them to the rinds, like rinds clean not a taste left. But didn’t eat the rind. Am I able to offer until this mini watermelon is gone or were those two slices her annual fruit? 😂 I tried offering to my dogs...
I have a leopard not a sulcata but they eat a similar diet. Over the past few years my style of feeding has evolved a lot. My girl lives outside 365 door open am and closed pm. Am when I open her door I grab handfuls of growing stuff and just litter it around the grassy part of her enclosure...
I add cypress mulch over winter helps maintain the heat and a basically bare floor through spring/summer/fall just a few scoops of yard dirt lightly raked makes it easier to keep clean. I use a mini oil filled radiator for heat. No Kane mat. I keep the thermostat at 80f. Year round. SGV Ca
The regulars know how neurotic I can be. So talk me through this. 5+ years ago my youngest child (now 11) wanted one of those glofish tanks. We set up a 20gallon and added 3 glofish tetras (lemon, blueberry and strawberry) and added a dwarf catfish oto (dyson). They’re still alive so I’ve done...
Paper towels over stone tiles cut to fit their tanks. Probably wrong. But it’s what I knew at the time.
ETA: I just read the thread 😂 I see you use paper towels too.
Wow! Lucky leo!!! I used to keep these. They are so easy to care for and great if you’re a night owl. Mine were always super active at night. Mine ate crickets occasionally but I most fed dubias and meal worms 2-3day a week. Mine thought wax worms were the best treat but I didn’t feed them regularly
I came to say I made a 4x4 and Leonora stays in exactly the same corner 100% of the time she’s in there and her foot paths tell me she doesn’t walk around. In to her corner and out. Period. So good plan!
