Tables are definitely not a problem if you’re able to maintain humidity. Most environments are too dry to maintain with an open top, which is why they’re not ideal.
I’ve had some hatch with slight dents, although nothing quite this big. They also had perfect egg shells, so not sure why this happens. Mine have always “filled” out within a week of hatching, but again, they were very slight indentations.
