Thanks @Tom ! Very detailed and beyond helpful as always. Is the caliche going to be an issue for Maturin getting his burrow deep enough? It starts about 12-15 inches down. Will 30 inch wall be enough to keep most predators out? I know we have javelina and coyote. That was partially reasoning...

UPDATE: 100W held at 81-87 tonight. Humidity died a bit to 76%, bad CHE maybe?

I'll give the 150 a try, and if that fails, maybe 2. Running a 40 gallon. Closed lid. 4 digital temp/humidity sensors, plus an IR thermometer. 100w may just be too small it seems.

Closed enclosure. Using a zoo med 100w and it is in a dome. I just bought it about 3 days ago and this morning the "bulb" is barely warm. I'll return it. Recommend another brand?
