    lights!

Thank you. I was getting confused with the ceramic heat emitter. I was thinking that was the fixture not a porcelain heating device that screws into a fixture. I found them online and get it now.

Lighting question for a red foot

I am struggling with how many lights I should have and heating bulbs. Currently I have one set up which is the combo zoo med powersun uv-UVB 100 watt bulb that I run 12 hours a day. Should I have another warm area? Or a full spectrum fluorescent light?

    lights!

So I should add a fluorescent tube and light? Or another ceramic lamp and warming light? My house currently is that hot but not because I want it to. Its been in the high 90's here and I dont have a/c. Thank you very much for your reply!

    Kane heat pads

Thank you. A local reptile shop owner told me I should use Kane mat. I currently do use that moss and think maybe plants and a humidifier is my best bet. On the bean farm website they do now sell Kane mats for tortoise enclosures but I did see there original purpose was for livestock outside...

    Is this shell rot?

I have only had her for a few weeks. Nothing I can think of that would have caused that to her shell. The lady who sold me dot said to use ground turkey, but the more research I do and talking to other tortoise owners the more I realize she had no idea on the proper care of a yellow foot.

    Kane heat pads

This is my temporarily set up. My husband is building her one out of wood. Sounds like on the new set up most of the top should be covered? We are making it 6 feet by 4 feet. This temporary home is a galvanized stock tank. I don't have a humidifier. Do I need one and a heat mat with a cover over...

    Kane heat pads

Hello, I have a yellow foot tortoise (dot is her name) and I am still trying to figure out the best indoor set up for her. I was told about Kane heat pads to help boost humidity. Has anyone used them? Like or dislike them ?

    Is this shell rot?

I have only had my tortoise for a few weeks. She is about 5 inches long and Is a Yellow foot tortoise. Unfortunately like a lot of people on this site, the pet store owner told me a lot of information that was not true. Today I noticed a few spots that look like little chunks of missing shell...
