My Sonoran Desert Tort is doing the same thing. Just sleeping all day. There is heat lamp 24/7 and (new) UV bulb on 12 hours. He has lived here since last year Nov. This is a pic when we got him (I assume he hatched 2019)

Thank you so much for this!! I have been following Sonoran Desert care sheets (or Russian Tort. because I read that they have similar care sheets). Good to know that I have been reading the right stuff....

Hoping this is an ok question to post here.... I am now confused (after reading this thread). Is Steve (the Tort) a Sonoran Desert Tortoise or a Sulcata?? Note: these are pics from a plastron question I had back in Jan (the arrow pointing to a denting I was seeing, but is now gone)

Status update? I read through this entire thread!! I am in Phoenix with a baby Sonoran Desert Tort and just thinking about his/her future (indoors mostly now, building something in the backyard for once Steve (the Tort) gets big enough...

I am very sorry to hear of a lost tortoise :( I have a plastron question (got onto this thread via "search" - please forgive me if I am not in the right area....) My several month old (do not know exactly how old) Desert Tort has a spot on his/her plastron and dents.... Can anyone please tell...
