What we sell is dwarf elephant grass. The tortoises like eatung it better than the regular and it does not grow out of control like the tall stuff. It doesn't not survive well in areas which receive freezing temperatures.
We are currently sold out of plants we can ship to CA, AZ, LA, and TX -...
Rodney,
So sorry to hear the plants didn't do well for you in a pot after being cut. We would be happy to offer you replacement seeds or some individual seed packets or plants to make up for what didn't meet your expectations.
I am so sorry your tortoise did not enjoy the seeds. We would love to send you a replacement or can send you some other seeds or spineless prickly pear to replace what didn't work for you.
Hi,
I hope you have received your seed. I just now saw this message. We were at a cancer camp with our daughter mid July. Any time you need to contact us, please email using the contact tab on our website or to geosulcata @ hotmail.com (without the spaces).
Hopefully you received everything...
We will ship it out to you on Monday via priority mail. Hope your tortoise enjoys! If you have any problems, just email me. You should have a USPS tracking number in your email now for the package.

We were the first ones to introduce Elephant Grass as a food source for Sulcata tortoises 15 years ago. We worked with the University of Florida agronomy and animal science departments to obtain what we have. Elephant grass does not germinate well from seeds. I can almost guarantee that what you...
Hi, We sold you the seed :) The white label is for the sulcata mix. The forest mix comes with the green label. I am sorry for it not being labeled. I will be sure to go and change the label file I have and put the name of the mix on the label. About 95% of our orders are for sulcata mix.
We just recently returned from Ecuador where we had a couple of pet redfoots (wild, but in our yard :)
We fed them our seed mix along with some treats of papaya (fresh), maquenos (a cross between a banana and plantain) and they ate a surprising amount of wild protein - snails in the yard, etc...
Yes, it will grow very well in small plastic trays. For faster germination, you can put a heating pad under the tray, but it is not necessary. We are the ones that sold you the seed ;)
We make new mixes every couple of months. If you (or anyone else) ever has a problem or concern with our...
We are in Florida. I attached some photos (old though - about 7 years ago - my avatar was taken last month though ). We have two lots that were for horses. We keep the gate between them opened, but have the option to close them to separate the tortoises if needed. We buried fencing about a foot...
They both live together on about 1/2 an acre. They have their separate burrows and only come together when we put out something like pumpkin or large limbs of hibiscus to eat. One loves to follow us around everywhere, the other stays to himself.
Hi,
We have been keeping sulcatas since about 1995. We hope to learn new things and also share our experience with others. We live in Florida and currently have two very happy, very large male sulcatas.

Our adult sulcatas love raw pumpkin. We have found it to be great for their beaks to have some harder foods to eat through. Since ours primarily graze on elephant grass and pasture mix, a treat of raw pumpkin (skin and all) is something they really enjoy.
