Is hiding for a week at a time normal?

Hey guys. I feel like I post a lot.. We just moved out Three Toes outside. She was pretty active for about an hour or so. Then his. She hadn’t eaten for a week before we put her in there and now that she’s in there, I haven’t seen her. Her water is clean. Do I need to pull her out? I know...

    New outdoor enclosure..

So right now it’s staying in the low 80’s at night and maybe mid 90’s during the day. I’ve been curious on how she’ll handle the winter here with only 6 inches or so of dirt. My need to do the CHE when it starts to get belove 50 ish so she still has some kind of warmth.

    New outdoor enclosure..

Is the lease says “x” you play the word game lol. My property manager is cool, she’s even seen the BP have inside. She lets me know when corporate is coming by so I can clean up things as needed lol She’s even said her bosses can be butt heads some time.

    New outdoor enclosure..

Kind of figured that. We are limited to our balcony apartment size for now. She came out this morning so we moved her into the new one. The plan is to go bigger, just can’t recreated the outside weather inside our house. We think she was wild when she was given to us. And out apartment is very...

    New outdoor enclosure..

It sure. We’ve had her for a year. Don’t know anything about her before that other than she might have been wild. But again, I don’t know for sure. She was given to us by someone in OK. Here is a photo of her.

    New outdoor enclosure..

So, we just built this for our TTBT. She has been inside for a year and we see her every couple of weeks. We also noticed that the soil was much warmer 4 inches down than the surface of the soil inside. So, today we finished her outdoor environment. Is about 6 inches deep with about 6 inch of...

    Always buried TTBT

Going to try keeping her in the sun for about 30 minutes then a soak for another 30. See how she does. It’s 100* at like 65% humidity. Hopefully she’ll liven up a little. Is it normal for ther shell to drop there in the center?

    Always buried TTBT

Lol animals are a trip. Yea Taquito seemed to be happier and out more when her stuff was wet. And she seemed to be out even more when the original substrate was just coco husk. I think I’m going to just make the entire area where the enclosure is at her new home. Get a shower curtain and...

    Always buried TTBT

There are so many different perspectives on this. (I am not challenging you, as I am not an expert in the turtle field). I called a local turtle rescue and he said wet/moist could cause skin problems and since they used to humid but dry conditions (here in TX but I’m pretty sure the turtle is...

    Always buried TTBT

I was thinking of how to keep it wet….thinking about running some pvc pipe under it with one part sticking out as to be able to just pour water directly into it.

    Always buried TTBT

Had her since last July. This set up is a few months old. She doesn’t come out to eat much. I’ve noticed she’s stopped since her substrate has dried up. Her original substrate was just coco chips. And she was always out in the morning looking for food. And even for the first month with the...

Bark - suitable substrate or not?

What about for at least a 2-3 yr old TTBT? Not sure how old mine is, is about 2.5-3 inches from front to back of shell.
