I went away for a month and my Hermann’s tortoise is now MASSIVE. Okay well, that might be an exaggeration but he is way bigger than I remember and noticeably heavier. Lenny is 2 and a bit years old and I can’t wait to see him grow to his full size one day 😊.

My hermanns tortoise is 1.5 years old. Sometimes when he is nervous when a stranger picks him up, he will retract his head into his shell. I’ve never seen him do this with his limbs. This might be a dumb question, but can he go fully into his shell limbs and all? 😂

I did consider that, but i was misting the other side of the enclosure and i always take care to not get any water on my lights.
