Yes I took one of those scutes too (I dont have those photos for the first tortoise for sale on morphmarket)
Here are the anal scutes and tail of the same tortoise of mine, pictured in my last post:
For contrast here is the supracaudal scute of a different tortoise, one of my own "4-6 year old" radiated I bought in 2024. So this would be more male?
@zovick I keep my eye out for females in California and this came up on morphmarket site. The lister days they have had them a short time and they werent in optimal environment/diet hence the pyramiding. And they say "90% sure they are female" but like you say, it's really too early to know at all!
Hi there -
I am wondering if anyone wants to take a "best guess" on whether this is M or F ? I really am pretty clueless on these things. Age is only 3, but if you had to take a stab at it, would you say M or F ?

Thanks for your input - I figured that 6 was an overestimate, and looking at others growth charts they shared, it seemed improbable. Thanks for your thoughts on gender ... yes guess its something I will find out eventually! There does seem to be many mature males coming up as available in this...
Thanks @YvonneG @Tom !
Would love any comments on photos from the resident experts @zovick @Sterant ...or anyone else!
These came from a group that was in Arizona but the person moved with them to CA some years ago, from what I was told. I am just unsure how to guesstimate age / growth. So I...
Hi there - I am hoping to get some input on these 2 radiated tortoise that I have taken on. I am told they have been spending a good time of the year outside here in CA bay area, and mostly foraged a good variety of weeds. The focus was good diet and slow healthy growth, which will continue...
