Yes, they have checked literally every organ to make sure everything is working properly with multiple blood tests and the results came back that everything looks great
It’s just very frustrating because I’m doing all I can to hydrate him without soaking because I can’t right now, and it isn’t affecting his urates. I’m just confused
Greek tortoise
Substrate currently is paper towels because he NEEDS to have a sterile environment (after his bladder stone surgery, he is still healing)
Humidity is always between 40-60%
He eats all sorts of things!! Varied greens from the store, and weeds during summer because I live in a cold climate. He gets dried weeds from kapidolo farms on top of grocery store greens (plantain, mulberry, cactus, etc)
So, he eats all sorts of lettuce from the grocery store that are safe (no spinach of course). He gets dandelion, turnip greens, mustard, radicchio, etc. He gets TNT supplement, and I have a bunch of dried weeds from Kapidolo farm that I sprinkle every day for more nutrients
He had a bladder...
My tort is very hydrated.. he’s been getting cucumber for hydration, and I spray his lettuce every day.
He cannot get soaked due to a recent bladder stone surgery.
He still passes chalky urates and I’m confused because I’ve been doing EVERYTHING to keep him hydrated.
Any idea what’s going on?
He is currently in a tortoise table with paper towels because he isn’t allowed to have anything else right now. He had a ginormous bladder stone removed because his previous owners gave him too much protein. He had a plastronotomy, so the environment NEEDS to be sterile at all times considering...
Hi! My Greek tort has been passing some chalky urates but I keep him hydrated. I spray his greens, give him cucumber time to time, and high water content lettuce. (He gets weeds and nutrient dense lettuce as well, I’ve just been trying to hydrate him by adding it in) He CAN’T bathe, he’s had...
My tort usually always has lots of clear urine, and then creamy white urates. However, today he passed some really chalky ones. I spray his lettuce every day, he has a large drinking bowl for water, however I can’t soak him because of his recent surgery. I’ve been hydrating him but maybe it...
That’s the thing, he had a bladder stone removed. But i am making sure he is VERY hydrated, spraying his greens with water before he eats them, cucumber once a week (he’s on antibiotics so he needs to be very hydrated because he can’t take baths for now)
He pees a whole lot of clear liquid, it...
Do tortoise have to excrete urates? I have a tort who mostly pees clear liquid, and a good amount of it too. I wasn’t sure if it was good or bad considering that he only passes urates sometimes
My Greek had a plastronomy to get a huge bladder stone removed. It’s been about a month, he was doing great. Active, eating, back to his normal self. He had an appoint about a week ago, and he does have an infection. 3 different bacteria’s that were sent out to a lab to be identified and...
