Thanks for all the great input. The redfoot tortoise is also a good option. At least I have time to consider which species while I build my enclosure. It will definitely be a difficult choice .

I had not even considered building an insulated shed. That's a great idea and possibly the best solution for limited indoor space. Thanks!
