Possibly unwell 3 year old Ibera Greek male (Artichoke is his name :) advice please and thank you!!!

It’s very humid here in PA during the summer! Here is the spot. I know it could be bigger but we are limited with spacing due to how much shade we have around our house. Any thoughts on plants that provide good shade but they won’t eat? I’m planting plantain, clover, thistle and dandelion in...

He is getting ceftazidime- intramuscular. The vet said his eating behaviors, lethargy, swollen eyelids, and slight swelling behind his neck area could indicate a URI. He has never had a runny nose or now any bubbles. I’ve always checked his nose for those signs.

Hi! artichoke went to the vet last week and the vet felt that around his eyes looked a little swollen as well as behind his neck area so I am injecting him every 3 days for an upper respiratory infection. He has had 4 infections and still is acting the same. Lethargic and not wanting to come out...

He’s just not eating like he used to. He will eat all his mazuri pellets when offered but seems disinterested in his greens. I do mix them up and add plantain, clover, and dandelion when they are in season. He loves Bok choy and will gladly eat that. He is peeing a pooping like normal. He was...

I’m going to see what the vet suggest. The X ray is $225 and would like to forgo that if not necessary. I’m thinking at this point a fecal and overall well being check up. We shall see what the vet suggests!

I found this “brooder” for $10 much better than a reptile lamp, thank you for the suggestion. Now I am going to figure out the correct bulb. Right now this end of the tank is about 79- which I might leave it because the cool side is 70-72. I also purchased a black wash bin and cutting a hole in...

Ok, you have been so helpful! Thank you so much! I called the vet and due to the fact that it’s a small practice she can’t get Artichoke in for two weeks. In the meantime I will get another light for a bit warmer temp in the new section. What would you recommend to have hanging over it? Would a...

Also, should I be changing his enclosure around from time to time or does this stress them out? You mentioned him not being interested enough to explore. I’ve read conflicting information on this.

Morning! Ok, will add more visual barriers. I do have a nano dome that I’m not using, could I use a small CHE in that to add some ambient heat? Or is that too small? Trying to keep my cost down when possible :) I did plan to move some of the fake plants around because that is the end I will...

I have used the same lights his entire life (10.0 tube) I have added more space to his enclosure and now his basking area is around 14” X 10” with the center temp being near 100. Where he eats and drinks/soaks the temps are around 75. I’m adding a picture of his bigger indoor enclosure. What is...

How big should the basking area be? Right now the are is big enough for him to bask and then when he moves to his food it is 80 degrees. His cool side is 70. Today we are adding more space so I will move his food over and his basking area will be around 12 inches wide by 10 inches. In that...

Here are the pictures requested. I have not noticed any cracks in his beak. His shell is 6 inches in length. I do use grass hay in the dry side because he likes to dig into it, but i do make sure its not getting damp (i know it can cause mold). As you can see in the picture he is burrowed into...

Hi All, I did try to search some other threads but haven't found any too helpful. First, I have to say I know his enclosure is too small. His enclosure is about 4x4 feet and Arti is kept inside year round at this point. This weekend he is getting an additonal 4 feet added to the length of...

New Tort owner-Greek :) Any tips from experts appreciated!

Waxing a tortoise?! Never heard of that but if it helps lock in moisture id be willing to do that weekly! Thanks for the tips! A quick question about their pee. When we first brought Artichoke home he had more "white" or urates visible when he peed. Now I notice a tiny bit, but for the most...
