Can you ID? Is this a sulcata tortoise?

UPDATE: No reponse to ads yet. He remains active and I think happy (although he looks like he is frowning). He continues to eat the squash, cucumber, hibiscus leaf mix. I did get a larger box - so there is that... We wandered the backyard in the morning sun after he woke up (he is a late...

Can you ID? Is this a sulcata tortoise?

UPDATE: No luck yet with the signs on the light poles. I placed a craigslist ad: http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/laf/5922320931.html I also know now that he is a TORTOISE and not a turtle. He has been eating yellow squash, cucumber, carrot, and hibisus leaves (a lot) and he also crapped a...

Can you ID? Is this a sulcata tortoise?

I like the way you think! I thought the same - just got back from posting some signs on nearby telephone poles...I indicated nothing about the turtle - just that a turtle was found and also stated that to claim the turtle you must be able to describe in detail and ID the brand of turtle.

Can you ID? Is this a sulcata tortoise?

Thanks for the quick confirmation. We are going to look for lost pet signs and maybe knock on a few doors. I am not prepared for the upkeep of one of these so must find out where he belongs. Thanks again.

Can you ID? Is this a sulcata tortoise?

Hi, Just joined to see what this fellow is. I came home today, and when I put the trash can behind the house - this guy was there and was eating some spilled dry cat food! In central Florida. I know for sure it is not a gopher - I had those as pets when I was a kid here in the 70s. Can you...
