    Improving grass in sulcata enclosure

I have an adult sulcata with a large grassy run that I had originally planted with seed for sulcatas. He has lived there 10 years and has selectively eaten to extinction his favorite grasses and other grasses have moved in. When I reseed, do I have to till up what is growing now or just...

    Automatic Sulcata Door

We are thinking about re-doing our automatic door for our large sulcata. We need something to open/close his heavy door on a timer. Obviously it would need an electric eye to prevent it coming down on him. We were thinking of trying a garage door opener. Has anyone tried this? Did it work? What...

    Beak trimming advice

It is not very bad yet. Last year one side was so long he could only eat on one side of his mouth...hence the repair job. I was hoping to prevent that from happening again. I hope you are right and it will not get any more pronounced.

    Beak trimming advice

I have a large 50#ish male sulcata. He lives in a large outdoor enclosure and eats mainly grass and weeds. Last year he developed a large spur on one side of his beak, so I tool him to the vet and had it ground down. Now he is developing a spur on either side. Is there anything I can do to...

    How to move large sulcata

I actually trained him to follow a stick with an orange ping pong ball on the end, (looks like a cherry tomato) which works great during the day. I work until 9pm and by the time I get home it is dark and he has no interest in food....)-:

    How to move large sulcata

Thanks for the light suggestion...you can't see it but long screws are holding them up. We'll rethink it though - thank you. As for the door construction, I will turn it over to my hubby. ... hubby here. I used an old 12V drill powered by two 12V battery chargers (one wired for forward, one...

    How to move large sulcata

Here are the pics of his house/shed. This is what happens when a biologist marries an engineer! He made the automatic door out of an old drill and 2 battery chargers! It is awesome! We have it hooked up to a timer that automatically adjusts with the sunrise/sunset. There is a people door and a...

    How to move large sulcata

Hi y'all! I am a small woman with a 50lb sulcata. He has a large grassy yard and an awesome house with heat & AC and door that closes automatically after dark. However, this time of year he starts to think sleeping outside would be a great idea. Of course, this is not a safe option and I have to...
