What cactus is that? Is there a widespread source for it? Does it actually grow in the enclosure, or is it grown outside and then some fronds are brought in for chewing on?
Everything I have read on this site says to not use Sand for Turtle/Tortoise enclosures. Is there any particular reason why you are planning to add sand to the soil you already have?

So it is not necessarily the "ramp" but rather the straight high sides which leads to issues! She has never had an issue getting out of it, but she does faceplant often once she totters forward. My ramped bowl actually has lower walls than the original water element...
