What cactus is that? Is there a widespread source for it? Does it actually grow in the enclosure, or is it grown outside and then some fronds are brought in for chewing on?

Everything I have read on this site says to not use Sand for Turtle/Tortoise enclosures. Is there any particular reason why you are planning to add sand to the soil you already have? I am new here(have an Ornate Box Turtle) and am genuinely curious.

Thanks for the reply. This does not have a calibration option. It really is a no frills, we gotta offer something from our inhouse brand type of product. It has a 2 percent repeatability claim to go with the +- 5C(others are typically +- 3F

Thanks for the feedback! So it is not necessarily the "ramp" but rather the straight high sides which leads to issues! She has never had an issue getting out of it, but she does faceplant often once she totters forward. My ramped bowl actually has lower walls than the original water element...

Is there an update on this little guy? Was it something he rubbed on in the cage? IF so what(so I do not make the same mistake)
