Hi! Here's a picture of the table. I think I should have written my original post clearer as I don't just need something to attach it to the table but also an actual holder for the light so I can connect it to a power source. Currently, there is no wire or plug connected to the light. I'm not...
Hi all, so my Russian tortoise is currently in hibernation so I'm trying to update his enclosure while he's asleep. I normally try and bring him outside daily so he can absorb the UV rays however this year the British weather has proven this difficult so I thought I'd invest in a UVB light so...
oh no well thank you for letting me know, i haven't opened them yet so I'll be sure to return them. I think if finding an incandescent floodlight is so difficult I'll reorder the one I had before (the Arcadia D3 UV basking lamp) even if it is more expensive as he really needs a lamp sooner...
thank you again for all the help, i just went and bought this from my local hardware store today and this was the only option there but i think it's the correct type.
Thank you so much for your help! To answer your first question the lamp I had just before this one was the Arcadia D3 UV basking lamp with 80Watts. Also don't worry we haven't used a red light for him for years after learning that we shouldn't.
And thank you I'll go to a hardware store tomorrow...
Hi all! This is just a small question but i was hoping some of you may be able to help. It's been six months since we last bought our heat lamp so it was time to buy a new one and my mum picked one up from Pets At Home from her way back from work today and it's different to the one i had...
I really don't feel comfortable doing it myself and i'd much rather do to a professional, unfortunately, I can't right now due to the lockdown here. We're going to go to a specialist to get it trimmed as soon as possible. I'm more so hoping the slate will stop it from growing anymore in the...
hi, he, unfortunately, can't be let outside on his own yet as our garden isn't secure and has some unsafe plants for him, our garden is a bee garden so it's all wildflowers that are grown specifically for bees and butterflies. however, last year we made plans of making him a large outdoor run...
thank you, I've just ordered a slate to put his food on and some cuttlefish bone and i'm going to take him to get his beak trimmed by a specialist as soon as the lockdown ends. unfortunately, the lockdown here is very strict and vets aren't open for any appointments unless they are absolute...
I've just ordered a slate to put his food on and some cuttlefish bones as I've read that helps to keep their beak short. i want to go to a vet to get it trimmed but i'm in lockdown currently, do you think it's so long that it's an emergency? or will me providing him the slate and cuttlefish bone...
Thank you for replying! what can i do to shorten his beak? i know some people put their tortoise's food on slates so i put his on some big rocks but evidently that isn't working. any tips?
ah i see, i do feed him most days but I've read from a few sources that they shouldn't need to be fed more than 6 days a week? i normally feed him 5-7 days a week. he also sometimes doesn't always eat everyday even if i do give him food everyday. but I'll ensure i feed him every day from now on...
My Horsefield tortoise has developed some white pigment around his eyes and I'm rather concerned. It's only appeared in the last day or two. I've read online that it could be dehydration but I don't see how that's possible as he normally soaks in his bath every single day for up to two hours...
My Horsfield tortoise is just under 20 years old and measures 6 inches across his back from his tail to the front of his shell. I've read online that for his size he should weight around 900g to 1000g but he only weighs 523g. I feed him almost every day and most days. These days he's mostly been...
