Good point about the plastron! I use Zilla Terrarium Liners for my basking area. They are supposedly "absorbent" so hopefully that's fine. She also has to climb up a foot long ramp to reach the basking area, so hopefully that helps dry off her plastron even more :)
I read that it's important for turtles to have the opportunity to dry off completely during basking to prevent fungal growth. Any idea how long it takes to dry off? My turtle (RES) will bask 20 minutes here, 7 minutes there, sometimes longer sometimes shorter, for a total of about 2 hours a day...
