I have a 2 year old Hermanns tort and was wondering how often I should soak him. I usually soak him twice a week for like 15 minutes because he doesn’t like it very much. He is about the size of my palm
I was just about to change my torts substrate and when I took his wooden play thing out there was ants and larvae or maggots underneath it. I’ve cleaned them out and I’m changing the substrate and washing everything. Will my tort be ok? Is there anything I can do to keep the larvae and ants away?
I have a two year old Hermanns tortoise and at the moment his substrate is some type of bark. It’s not quite humid enough for him so I am going to switch to coco coir and topsoil but there is no “organic” topsoil in my area. What else can I mix the coir with to keep it humid?
