I highly recommend getting some cordless grass shears. I got some cheap on OfferUp last year. They make quick work of harvesting weeds, a real game changer. I also used these 55 gallon tote bags from Harbor Freight ($0.79) rather than a bucket. I can fill one pretty quickly using the shears.

We're very much enjoying foraging for mallow weed that has spring up everywhere in my area after the rains we've had is So Cal. I told my son we could feed every sulcata in California if we could harvest it all!

I read about the thermal reflective insulation, didn't seem like it would work well. And I couldn't figure out how to make the foam sheets work and be able to easily get into the enclosure several times a day. So I stuck with the insulation sheets that we get with our meal prep packages...

Time to change the mulch in the enclosure. I finally found Tom's preferred mulch at SiteOne in Los Alamitos. I'm excited lol!

We have the solid vinyl fencing, it is extremely durable. Our 130lb sulcata often patrols the perimeter and climbs a bit in the corners, but has done zero damage. The fence posts are in concrete, there's no way he could push through. And mine does not dig at all under the fence, so no issue there.

Just wondering, has anyone used a big chest freezer for a heated outdoor enclosure/night box? Seems like you could just cut a hole and frame a door, and it's already well insulated.
