    Venezuelan Redfoots

Interesting that 2 of those redfoots have the double nose scales like a yellowfoot which is supposed to be fairly uncommon from what I've read

    new baby yellow

I never imagined I'd receive one so young. I ordered it from bigappleherps. I've had to rethink my original care setup somewhat to make sure temperatures don't drop below 75 F at night and the heat wouldn't be too intense at any point either. Right now with the humidifier on it's current...

    new baby yellow

Hey guys, just wanted to share some pics of this little guy/gal. I didn't realize that breeders would ship them this young, he even still had his egg tooth which from what I've read typically falls off within 4-5 days. Anyone know if that is accurate? Was going to try to get a birthdate...

new home for my homie home's....

I did actually staple those clip lights to the wood squares I mounted to the frame out of fear of the same thing but you are probably right, still too much light. As far as the fogger goes though it's actually just a reptifogger hooked in to a PVC pipe with holes drilled in it. I feed it from...

new home for my homie home's....

Just thought I would post a couple picks of my setup I completed last night. Was trying to find a way to use the mvb bulb without it being too intense for the homes so decided going big was my only option. It's a 300 gallon Rubbermaid tub and was extremely difficult to get upstairs. The hide...

uvb lighting for forest hinge backs

Yeah that middle pic was actually taken right as he began to defecate. What appears to be male parts is actually the anus expanding and you can see some greenish brown solid there to the right. I didn't know what had happened until I put the phone down right on top of it... Yeah good times...

uvb lighting for forest hinge backs

Well the only way I could get her to come out of her shell was a quick swim with the African cichlids. She's a surprisingly good swimmer but I never leave her in more than about 5 minutes. As always this bowl movement was brought to you as a result of it...my apologies.

uvb lighting for forest hinge backs

Thanks for the welcome and advice. I will try it with no lights then and see if his activity increases. I will just have to figure out how to keep these high heat / humidity plants alive...maybe setup a separate terrarium or something. And I believe he/she is a homeana now. Was advertised as...

uvb lighting for forest hinge backs

Hello all, I have been searching for an answer to a question on lighting for forest hinge backs and was really needing to know if the common thought is that mvb based bulbs are just too intense for these guys and if so what is the preferred method for providing uvb for d3 synthesis. Thanks in...
