Box turtles shouldn't eat mealworms constantly they cannot digest them and it causes stomach upset. Also be careful with pelleted foods made for other species because they could be higher in proteins that turtles do not need.
If you have too many in one enclosed they will actually flip each other over. Also make sure you don't have anything stacked up high, they like to climb and will fall off of things.
That's a very inhumane thing for a vet to tell you to do! We simply buy the vitamin spray and calcium powder and put it on her food before she eats it. My vet also gave us this stuff called 911 I think it was full of hay and vitamins you mix it with water and put it on their food.
