My dogs likes to go behind the tortoise and eat her leftover food bit when she eats the bagged reptile food (mazuri) think it could hurt him.. he is kinda like my personal vacuum if it wont hurt ill let it go but if it can hurt him i guess i need to clean up as soon as she eats.

No i have a Sulcata, she lives in the house atm because she was an emergency rescue. We dug her a pool actually she has two pools and sleep inside at night however last few days has stayed inside due to construction. We are having a heated habitat built for her in 2 weeks.

72 but im in the desert so feels colder. not a lot of sun shine today. we are used to 115 summers here so very cold for us, but coming from the eastern part of usa i realize how silly this sounds lol

another question when she is outside she walks about all day. but staying inside all day she barley moved and slept all day didnt want to eat or anything is that normal? She has cut back on eating now that its getting cold. but is normal for them to go whole day without eating?

She seems to be particularly lazy today (very cold) she has not even gone to the door to want to go outside so maybe she wont mind being stuck inside with me. i gave her a bunch of greens and a carrot with calcium but she not hungry yet. she seems fine, just lazy lol

she wont drink for a dish should i soak her in tub sometime today so she can have water?

Hi im new to tortoise so i need some advice asap.. we are having a new roof put on this week and the roofers are scraping off the old one. it had been windy and most if our old roof went in our back yard (despite renting them the largest dumpster they sell) I have been working all morning but...

Anyone else in phoenix area? its not going to get too cold here but will they get in soaking pools in the winter here? should i give her another source of water when its to cold to get in her pool?

I made her a make shift pool today. and she likes this one! she got in on her own and i saw her drinking she didnt stay long but she did drink and walk in it.

i would say no, b/c they are a life time pet something you may have to will someone, kids teen may change their minds or live in places where they cant take a pet. Tortoise are a lifestyle or life long pets right? im am new to this so maybe idk.
