Hiya everyone.
I just bought a new baby tortoise yesterday.
I bought him from a local pet shop.
there were a couple of tortoises but this one was getting looked over because as they said “his shell isn’t as pretty as the others”.
since getting him he’s really active, nosey and friendly. He’s...
Thank you for the info I feel a lot better, I've turned the temps down a bit and also got a hide in either end of the vivarium and so far so good..no more water sleeping and using both hides .
Thank you so much!
Anyone like to hazard a guess at the sex of my little one (pic in an above post)...
@Anyfoot..
Thanks for that! I did have a terracotta plate in there but he didn't bother with it much. I will switch back though and will sort the hide at either end for him today. I actually had to pull apart a poop yesterday because he pooped on the glass! I know..I don't know how either...
Thanks so much all, am a little worried now..how would I check for parasites?
He gets a pinkie mouse once a week or once a week and a half..his diet consists of fruit, greens, salad.
His mister is on twice a day, he had a soak once a week. He seems happy enough still, I've checked his shell and...
Hi all I need some advice and help please for my 18 month old little pal "Ru". For the most part Ru seems really happy, he/she is active likes to climb, be petted, comes when he hears my voice, likes to nosey about, and eats REALLY well..
The issue I have is that he has started to sleep in his...
Hi all, after some advice please.
After having a basking lamp in my viv for a year I read that a ceramic heat lamp is better for my little red foot.. So today I bought a ceramic 150w bulb and a ceramic bulb fixture (the one I had before was a black plastic one and I found out that this could...
No worries, this is what I bought and just attached a washing machine hose, it works awesome! Hopefully you will be able to get hold of it where you are
Hi Michael, are you based in the uk? I ask because I can send you a link to purchase it. I didn't buy a reptifogger or a reptile specific. I bough a humidifier and then just attached a hose.. It's awesome! Only needs filling up once every week or so and I have it on twice a day
Aw thanks so much! Have been doing my best to keep the growth smooth..got a little bit of raising on the back 2 scutes..but that was before I sorted the fogger so fingers crossed
Lol thanks @Redstrike .
His head is very yellow isn't it, is that normal? His colouring on the side of his face is starting to go a burnt orange colour
Just wanted to share a couple of pic of my Ru, not sure about age, is 12.5 cm long (he's grown 8.5cm in 8 months-hope that's normal?)..think he's about 2 yrs old, had him since July last year, doing my best to avoid pyramiding and give him the best life I can
Some gorgeous little torts on here..
Here's my Ru (Tarta"Ru"ga), had him/her since July 2015, not sure on age but he is 12cm shell length (if you have any guesses at his age would love to hear) ❤️ x
Just wanted to post an update of my very happy little tort who loves it's fogger!
Thanks for all the advice and information, hopefully the slight bit of pyramiding I think I can see will sort itself out
Hey Carbonaria,
Thanks for posting!! Will be def interested to see how you get on with the warm humidifier and the conversion process. It certainly is freezing, up here in Newcastle it's vile!
Little Ru seems really happy with the fogger I hooked up..after having some food today he/she went and...
