Well from what I read online it's from the Asteraceae family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asteraceae and if you look in the "uses" part most of the plants in that family are herbs o vegetables so I would be inclined to think it's edible, not sure though.
Hope it works.
here's an idea for future "house builders" why not make a glass roof which hass two glass panels with space in the middle, free solar heat that would be stored during the day =)
wow, looks really clean cut. Looks like you put a lot of work in there... Is the height of the house a functional, asthetic o convenience issue?
Pics from further away viewing the whole yard would be awesome, great work!
i thought it was awfull and not that it would've made any difference to me if they were, but the thing is they were'nt even hungry. At least fake hunger, it just looked liked they enjoyed it.
well i have no experience with either but these i've been told work.

let me know if you give them a try.
tortoise nerd your torts are awesome i really enjoy seeing you're pics one thing that puzzles me is where do you keep them? i've looked through some of your previous posts and i dont think i've ever seen your whole enclosure! haha just curious..
just wondering, im from argentina as well and their distribution is prohibited so there's no buying them legally with a permit either.
It looks really good by the way, congrats.
For a tortoise that size you should plan some kind of shelter, i used to live in houston and temps go to the low 20's in winter, for several weeks at a time..
thank you, i hope it didnt hurt anyones feelings or think im looking down on his experiment, on the contrary it really makes me happy to see someone invest time and money (on his own dime) just to seek a brighter future for tortoises in general.
Matter of fact I'm performing a "copy" of his...
Tom i've talked to you on pm before so you know i'm a fan, but i dont really agree on this one because you're going against "nature's" way. I think they should have a choice in temperatures, maybe have some kind of doggy door to a cooler spot somewhere else. Not saying you should'nt try it I...
well snooping around i found some for sale online, if the pics are true they are beautiful specimens.

well i finally found some multivitamin with some antibiotic and have been giving him one drop two times a day diluted in his soaks, maybe the dosage is too little but the lady who sold it to me wasnt really sure.
anyways ive upgraded the enclosure into something more humid and got a better heat...
