Great advice again, thanks @JoesMum and @Anyfoot - really helpful. The spot is a sun trap. I was out at 9am and the whole area was sunny, it's now half 4 and still in full sun. I'm going to mark out an area and see how it look, I'm keen on the pallet idea, and a cover will be easy enough. I...

I think that's all of them, certainly weed like things that I could feed them if they are edible. I do have lots of plants too but my wife knows what they are so I can look them up for eatability!
I have lots of weeds and plants in my garden, I've spent ages trying to work out which is which but once I'd got past dandelion I kind of hit a blank!
If any of you have too much time on your hands and fancy naming these and if they are safe/edible for Redfoots I'd be most grateful. Some may...
Thanks @Anyfoot and @JoesMum - I appreciate the advice and thoughts.
I'm struggling to decide what to do. When I put them in the garden they are off like [very slow] rockets, and it's great to see them exploring. They are not trying to hide, they seem to be enjoying checking out the garden...
Been a while, I've had to give my son all my time for a while as he hasn't been well. The weather is so nice here now I really want to get on with this and get the tortoises outside. I've had them out in the garden a few times, but it's hard to keep an eye on 4, I'm paranoid I'll lose somebody...
Mina you have had some really good advice here. I believe you are trying to do the best for these tortoises, but I think you know it's going wrong. The fact is there really isn't any point worrying about treating conditions if you are not able to provide the right basic care.
This question...
Wow just seen all the plant pics, nice variety! Moving water would be nice, I want to do the same, just got to be careful with the depth I guess. I thought if I made it deep enough to allow for their growth and then I could just put small stones in the bottom to make it shallower. It's easy...
I am! Not been on here for quite a while, my son has been poorly and had to give him all of my time, not managed to get my enclosure expansion done or anything that I wanted so it's been frustrating.
I love what you are doing with this Pearly, I'm going to do a small outdoor enclosure I can...
Looking great, I can see loads of progress - I think when you are doing it things always seem slower and you don't really notice it evolving but each time we see a pic it looks better and better.
I would put flat stones around that they can bask on, won't take up the space. Maybe put some...
I think it was, one and two Redfoot and number 3 a Cherryhead.
Why would you seperate? Do you keep Redfoots or Cherryheads together or individually? If they were firing I would seperate them, but I don't believe sitting on the food is always a sign of aggression or bullying and that is, I...
With tortoise 3 who was then removed. The discussion then went on to should the original two be seperated as one sits in the food.
That's how I read it anyway, number 4 is seperate anyway as it's much younger.
I thought the same as the rest of your post until I read otherwise regarding the above. Redfoots have been observed sharing hides in the wild when there are other options. Of course that could be bullying too, it could be that several are all fighting over the same spot.
Could do, I'm guessing it's just a shell pigment ultimately so it's likely to be affected my light. I wonder if it's like the tortoise version of Vitiligo? I have early stage vitiligo on my hands and arms, so I tend to cover my arms so I don't look 'too odd', if I get a tan my skin obviously...
There hasn't been any aggression other than the bite though as far as I can see. The aggressive tortoise was removed previously for biting, Crabby-J was worried the original two may need to be split up - though personally I wouldn't keep them in pairs, I went for 'many' when I knew I could have...
