Go to a restaurant supply shop and get a couple of the pvc strips they use for walk in coolers. I have them on a couple of my hot houses and they work great. My tortoises stay warm in 30+ degree weather with those, a heater and a thermostat.
I understand the issues of stress and moving her. I have a somewhat unique situation up here regarding soil.
Her living area right now is about 10ft x 50ft. Our soil is very rocky (lava cap). You get about 6"-8" down and hit rock. Not really conducive to digging a nest. My plan is to dig...
Hello,
I have a 5 year old female Pardalis Pardalis that won't lay her eggs. She's never been introduced to a male but she has a 14 eggs according to the xrays. She's been digging but has not deposited her clutch yet. My concern is that we have pretty rocky soil so she can't get a nest dug...
They are highly endangered and not available for the pet trade in the US. The ones you see on this forum are usually in China where they are illegally imported.
Up the temps. I had a similar situation which my last baby leopard. Many people try to keep the humidity up to combat pyramiding but don't keep a close enough eye on the temps. If it is damp and your night temp drops into the 70's you are asking for trouble. I'd say take them to a vet for a...
He wants it bad, but he's not big enough to handle it. Since they're both still growing I'd give him a few years to be able to climb up and make it work.
Alright, it's time for another round of "Guess the Sex". This leo is 5" so hopefully we can figure it out. I've always assumed female since it has split scutes.
I'm kinda in the same boat. I've had my pardalis pardalis since January and it's put on about 9 grams. It eats like a horse and just doesn't seem to keep the weight on. Way slower growth rate than my babcocki and radiated. The weight that is has been able to keep on was added right after...
Here's what I have for my indoor enclosure. Luckily I live in San Diego so he gets plenty of outdoor time. This is only for nights and cold days. My radiated is only 3 1/2" right now so this should get me throught the next couple of years. The enclosure has sliding glass front and is vented...
You can't find any caresheets for yniphora's because they're highly endangered and illegal for most people to own.
Bill Zovickian has the best Radiated caresheet I've seen.
My apologies for abandoning this thread. The camera on my phone sucks and I can't get any decent pictures of the beak issue. I can see it catching a little bit when he closes his mouth. My short term remedy is to start feeding him on a little piece of granite in hopes that his beak will grind...
