Hi guys,

I have a heat light in the middle of my tank that is on all the time, and then a light that makes the habitat bright. The heat light only projects heat, though. Is that enough warmth? Or should I bring in a separate heater as well? Thank you so much for responding,
Hi guys, this is my first winter with my Russian (we live in NH) and he has been digging way more than usual. Is this a sign that he wants to hibernate? Is there a way to keep them from hibernating? Should he start acting differently? This is all so new to me!
Thanks,
Kayla
Hi guys,
I need to cut my Russians nails, but I don't know how and don't want to hurt him. I have been told to file them but it doesn't work for me, any suggestions? Can I use a nail clipper and just cut off a part of his nails? Is this bad for him?
Thank you,
Kayla
I have never heard that before but it sounds right. I have a light that dangles/hangs above Roxy's habitat, I think it depends on the situation. Also, check and see if your tort hangs out more in the warm or cold side of your habitat. If it is the warm side, get a warmer bulb. As long as your...
I agree with theguy67. Talk about the important details of having your species of tortoise. Good luck and have fun on tv! Can you tell me the channel or broadcasting time so that I can watch it?
Thanks,
Kayla
I would say he is around 5 years old, but not older because he is still very bright. Babies are around the size of a half dollar bill coin. Tortoises usually stop growing after 2 years, and my 10 year old tort. is the same size. Are you are sure he is 6 months old? If you got him at a pet shop...
I don't think Roxy puts his head fully under while drinking, so I am not worried about being confused. I usually put the water up to his chin, he seemed to like it, so should I still make it lower? Thanks for all of the great advice. ;)
Thank you! I was just curious because I heard that they could swim and I didn't think that it was possible because of their shells. Also, when I soak Roxy, should the water be just above his head or under his chin?
Thanks again,
Kayla
