I have looked in several tortoise plant websites and can find NO reference one way or the other about the ornamental gingers. We have lots of Butterfly Ginger (Hedychium sp) which I was planning on putting in Elsa's enclosure. I know that the gingers in general are safe for many animals- they grow it for many of the herbivores at our local zoo. So I'm ASSUMING it's safe for tortoises to be around but would appreciate any feedback or experience. Thanks!

It's edible but probably not palatable due to the pungent aroma
