DT with tongue issue

HI all!

Billy's tonge which is normally all pink, has a brown color with spots on the top of it. Any idea what this is or how serious the situation is? any help will be greatly appreciated.

btw - he is acting normal and eating well

It could be many things. Could you attach/link to pictures? They would be helpful.

My vet told me that a tortoise's tongue is often an indicator of it's health. But I don't know what it could be.

well i feel dumb now, cause i went out and fed him some lettuce and it washed down whatever was on the tongue. probably dirt or some of his you know what. anyway, crisis averted. . . lol

Hehe... I was thinking that might be the 'ailment'! Don't feel badly, I've taken many a second look to realize the problem wasn't really a problem.
