im babysitting a sulcata tortoise for the winter for my moms friend, and what are some good food i can attain easily. their will be snow on the ground and no leaves on the trees so i cant get anything from outside.

are the spider plants ok to feed them because we have 3 big ones.

but anything that can be found in a store, or petstore, what is cheap, assessable, and good for them to eat

THANKS! :D

Mazuri tortoise food...is cheap on the Internet and even cheaper if you have a local feed store order you a 25lb bag..(I pay $24 for a 25lbs bag)

But I wouldn't feed this as staple..I would throw in some romaine, escarole, dandelion greens, squash... List goes on...but what would really be easy is if you can get him to eat hay or orchard grass..

I guess it would depend on how big it is, smaller ones can eat spring mix and mustard greens, larger ones you will want to feed hay too.
