My 8lb 12 inch 10 yr old rescued Sulcata (Harley) has settled in pretty good. After reading, & reading, & a few comments from you wonderful folk, I know Harley has MBD pretty bad from his earlier care taker.

He is eating a lot- Am feeding him two times a day - Once in the am & then in the early eve. Big piles of mixed approved greens. He always has hay but never touches it. He always seemed hungry when I feed him once a day so I added a morning feeding which he grazes off all day. Is this too much?

Now for Calcium & D3- I have the mixed calcium & D3 powder & put a teaspoon in a zip lock & shake his food into it once a day. He always has cuttlebones & he does use them but not often. It is hard for him to get to them as he can not eat anything flat on ground level. I had to put his food on a shelf like rock & that is working well.
Is this too much calcium/d3 for his size?

He has a 7 foot by 4 foot indoor enclosure with a che & a 160 watt power sun uvb bulb. He has a temp grade of 73 on the cool side, 110 basking & 90 in warm area. Large water dish for him to climb into, tort friendly plants, 65 to 80% humidity (which I am still trying to stabilize) His moist hide, & I added a card board box in his warm area after watching him push my cats shoe box all over my floor. He seems to really like boxes. Still have him indoors until winter is over but have grand plans for outside enclosure. This will be about 20 foot x 20 foot....
