20140613_164922.jpg So, today I accumulated yet another tortoise. The lady who had him undoubtedly loved him to death, but I noticed she didn't know a lot about the proper care of them. In the stuff she gave me to go with him came a bottle of melon flavored "tortoise salad dressing"... In all the research I've done, I have NEVER seen or heard of this stuff. Does anyone use it? Feedback? Reviews? Opinions?
It sounds good enough in moderation, but I'm still very weary of actually giving it to my tortoise.

I've seen it . Never used it . If you are feeding a good diet you shouldn't need it . It won't harm your tortoise but why spend money on it . Red foots may get addicted to it . Then you'll have to use it more and more .

I agree. I Wouldn't Spend Money On it, But This Was Given To Me For Free. I hate being wasteful, but I would also never want to harm my torts. I have 3 russians.

I've been in the turtle rescue business for many years, and I've accumulated quite a nice variety of food and equipment. While I would never spend $$ to buy some of the foods I'm given, I never let it go to waste. I use it all...yes, even the 'fruity pebbles' that are given to me.

So, I'd use that stuff. I would save it to use when I have a tortoise that is off his feed. Or to use when introducing a new food that isn't well accepted. I think if you use it in moderation it won't become addicting.
