I am SO EXCITED! I just got my first tortoise yesterday. I have had turtles off and on throughout my many years but never a tortoise. I am told Morla is approximately 2 months old. She is a Sulcata and still has a tiny bump of her egg tooth left. (Of course I have no idea yet if she is really a she but who cares!) I also have 2 very tiny red eared sliders named Jack and Diane. I have had them for about 1 month. I am so eager to learn everything I can about my new family members. Morla is 45g, Jack is 9g, and Diane is 10g. Photos are (in order) Morla, her inside enclosure (I take her out for a few hours a few times a day as my yard is all weeds and some grass and she LOVES dandelions, Mulberry leaves, and Clover), Jack and Diane’s enclosure, Jack, Diane.

Welcome! Great looking tort and turts. I am fairly new myself but you have come to the right forum. Lots of knowledge here. Be ready to make a bigger hold for your sully. The aquarium won't last long. They grow like weeds. Hopefully someone will send you the link on care for sulcata's. I haven't figured out how to do it yet. Good luck

Thank you! I have already started planning the bigger enclosure for sure. Your little one is a cutie as well!

Welcome! You've come to the right place. I also have several sliders and a Redfoot Tortoise. This is my newest little guy.

If you find Morla pacing back and forth up against the glass. Cover the glass all the way around up to where that first black border is on your aquarium. Cuts down on the stress of wanting to get out.

Thank you. So far she is using the corner grass as her hide and seems to be ok. It is rough on me to keep the a/c turned up to 70ish, which still runs constantly and is nowhere 70 haha (I only have window units and the one for upstairs is in my room where she is), but I will do anything for my baby !
I read that Opo got out and went missing for quite some time. I am so glad he was found.

Yeah that was a horrible 3 days. Keep the humidity up and soak Morla everyday if possible. I started Opo out the wrong way. Even though I was soaking Opo about 3 times a week. I didn't have a closed hold and at about 5 months Opo started pyramiding. I have actually brought it down some as Opo starts getting bigger. I know what you mean about trying to keep humidity up inside with A/C. Last winter it was tough. I like it cool in the house and Opo was inside then. Now that Opo is outside on the screened porch in the closed hold. It is much easier keeping the humidity up.
