Your chances are 50/50....No better. It will look like a male, then a female, then a male, then a female, then a male, then a female, etc. until it either flashes you or a male "connects" with her.....Its funny how often there are 9 inch red foot "females", and then people say they flashed them....There is no guarantee to this. People say concave starts happening at 6 inches...Psh. One of my 8 inch males (only know its a male because I was flashed...) is JUST starting to get concave. They become concave about when they're reaching maturity.
My first red foot I got as a hatchling long, long ago. Then I got another a year later. The whole time I've had them growing up, I thought the first one was a male, the second one was a female....I stayed with this reason of thinking til the "female" flashed me, and now the "male" has been successfully bred....Boy, I felt stupid :) And, of course, who wants to change names after 7 years.....
Sorry, I know you probably just wanted a random guess, but I wanted to let you know...Unless this is just a fun game (nothing wrong with that :)) then its pointless....You won't know for sure for years.
Beatiful red foots though. Very smooth shells.

There's an old saying with tortoises. If it looks like a male, it's a male. If it looks like a female, it could be a male. :)
