Haha idk! I think they like to snuggle into things so I guess that counts. Looks pretty relaxed!

I've seen a few snapshots of all species sleeping like this. It's harmless for them and comical for us!

I was worried he might fall onto his back but maybe he'll be OK. :)

Ah, I see the worry. I've never seen my Russian not be aboe to get back over after flipping. What usually kills a turtle or a tortoise is the weight of their guts on their lungs, and it's more common for the bigger guys. Also, being flipped in the sun or under a heat source will cause it to overheat and die.

Yes. Some other species of tortoise are also like to sleep like that. I know my elongated tortoise are sleep like that some time.

I have not yet see her flipped backward because that. She will slowly walk backwards and them walk away from the corner.

In my point of view s.th might be not suetable for her in your enclosure or where ever you have her in. I do not know what the plastic is about?
generally she tried probably to get out of her enclosure. But i did not see the enclosure. This is not normal. Does she has a hiding place. Russians live longer when they hibernate. Just a thought.

So, funny story. The insane little dude actually was able to climb up the corner by digging his claws into the plastic liner and pulling himself up to the top of the walls. When my boyfriend came home from work, Steve had fallen out of the enclosure and was on the floor! He's just fine but what a scare that was for us! Boy, does he love climbing! Now we'll have to find something to put over the top of the corners to keep him from getting over again. What a super explorer he is!!
